Mexican Cantinas - I have been in a few. The true Cantina is uniquely Mexican, as a traditional Pub is to Britain. They were usually the sanctuary and bastion of the “ordinary” man. But, just like the world, they are changing. For starters, women,(Gracias for dios!Thank God ) now frequent them. But they can still be dives and bare bones. And some now are even hip. They can be friendly, convivial and even romantic. But, fuelled by tequila and “machismo”, Cantinas can still be on occasion unpredictable and even un poco dangerous. I hope to capture their essence, before they disappear.
